Two local open exhibitions

CALLING ALL ARTISTS!

Wysall Watercolour Group are planning their second exhibition to take place in May 2012 and invite local artists and craftspeople to show and/or sell their work. We want to make this a bumper exhibition and a showcase for local artistic talent.

 Works in any medium are welcome, oil, acrylic, watercolour, pastel, whatever you prefer. We also have some limited space for pottery, ceramics or other crafts.

 Open Art exhibition at New Walk Gallery

Hi, this info was passed on to me by Anne Matthews; thought it merited wider circulation around the club so please feel free to pass on or post on the web site.

There is an art exhibition at Leicester Museum (New Walk) which anyone can enter. You can submit anything, as long as it's framed to their specifications.
It's called Open 23 Exhibition, New Walk Museum and Art Gallery. All entries must be for sale, but will also be judged for the £2000 Attenborough Prize. It is quite expensive to enter (around £10 per pic, not refundable if you're not
selected) and the gallery takes 40% commission on sales. Paintings have to be taken to the gallery along with entry forms 28-30 October. There is also a youth section for ages 11-17.
