Charnwood Drawing and Painting Club are a group of amateur artists from Charnwood who meet up for regular demonstrations and art exhibitions
We are a friendly local club with around fifty members catering for artists of all ages and skill levels from beginners and upwards. We offer monthly art demonstrations, weekly painting & drawing, exhibitions, and gallery visits. Membership is only £30 per year and non-members can participate in some events and pay as they go. Come and join us, we look forward to seeing you!
Club Nights are held the last Thursday of the month at the Gorse Covert Community Centre, Loughborough See inspiring demonstrations by acclaimed artists and learn tips from the professionals in great company! Visitors warmly welcomed and can pay on entry. Refreshments and ample free onsite parking available.
Gorse Covert Community Centre is located next to Morrisons supermarket off Maxwell Drive, Loughborough LE11 4RZ:
On arriving at Maxwell Drive, turn left as if going to the supermarket driving past Morrisons petrol station and turning right to the very back of the car park (with the supermarket store on your right).
The Community centre is ahead of you – a single storey building. Enter the reception area via the main entrance door using the push button on the wall. The ‘Garden Room’ is straight ahead.

Weekly Drawing Sessions
Gorse Covert Community Centre, next to Morrisons, Loughborough. Monday evenings 7pm – 9pm on 1st/3rd Monday in the month. Paint or draw still life, portraiture, or ‘do your own thing’. £3 per session includes tea/coffee/biscuits. Ample free parking on site.
Woodhouse Eaves Village Hall, Day time painting each Tuesday 10am-12 noon. Take your own materials and paint what you fancy and chat amongst friends. £3 per session including tea/coffee/biscuits. Free parking on site.
Walk and Draw/paint at local places of interest around Charnwood to capture some fabulous subjects in pencil or paint before taking lunch at a cafe/pub. In bad weather the group may visit art galleries.

Barrow on Soar, Bishops Beveridge Club Daytime painting most Tuesdays 10.00am-12.00 on 2nd /4th Mondays monthly. You can practice drawing still life or do your own thing. £3 per session including tea/coffee/biscuits. Free on-street parking.
We exhibit our members artworks throughout the year, and one of the most popular venues is Loughborough Museum, where we will exhibit a selection of our members paintings in the Café March/April 2020.
Charnwood Drawing and Painting Club also has a rolling artwork display at Loughborough General Hospital and every June exhibits at Woodhouse Eves Village Hall Annex, where Members artworks can be purchased. The Club has also frequently displayed its artworks at Loughborough Library on Granby St, and at the Great Central Railway station, Loughborough.
How to become a member
To become a member of Charnwood Drawing and Painting Club pop along to a club night and talk to us. Membership is just £30 and gives reduced fees at demonstration nights, painting/drawing sessions etc and allows you to put your work on display at exhibitions.
